Test shots:
Initially thinking about childhood, the seaside is somewhere that always feels very nostalgic for me due to childhood family holidays etc. Below are some images I took of my friends playing on the beach and building sandcastles much as we did as kids. As none of have ever lived by the seaside before, it's still a very magical place for us and I wanted to try and capture this wonder and awe.
I don't think I will use these images in my photobook as I definitely want to try and be more playful in my final images but it was definitely good to experiment and realise that I don't want to use this more traditional, straight photography style for this project, I want it to be a lot more staged. They were also good to experiment with flash and try to get aperture and exposure right as these are still things that I'm learning to use successfully.
